The purpose of Chess Academy is to share the joy and benefits of chess with school age children. We are passionate about enriching children’s lives, and providing a fun environment for learning. We are dedicated to establishing chess programs in elementary schools throughout the greater Sacramento area.
Chess Academy founder Charlotte Bill started teaching chess in the Roseville and Eureka school districts in 2003. She has worked with the Roseville Parks and Recreation bringing chess camps to kids for over 10 years. Inspired by the numerous educational, and social benefits of chess, and a love of working with children, she established Chess Academy.
